Diamond 9 Sun Classic Fall Showcase 16U to play at Legends Way

PFX Athletics and the City of Clermont are proud to announce another year of hosting the premier Diamond 9 girls softball college showcase event, the Sun Classic, at Legends Way Ballfields (National Training Center, Clermont, Florida).

The 16U division of the event, which will be held October 28-30 at Legends Way Ballfields at the National Training Center, marks the second year that PFX Athletics has worked with Diamond 9 Events in partnership to open the doors of opportunity for women and girls through sport. “Since 2009, Diamond 9 has become known as one of the premier college softball showcase event organizers and the Sun Classic Fall Showcase is generally accepted to be one of the largest and highest quality softball showcase events in the Nation,” explained Alison Strange, President of PFX Athletics. “Legends Way Ballfields is proud to partner with event organizers like Diamond 9 who focus on providing women and girls opportunities to achieve their dreams in sport, in this case, to get to college, and we could not be happier to be hosting the 16U division.”

In 2015, Legends Way Ballfields hosted over 50 teams from across the Nation at the Sun Classic event with over 70 college softball coaches attending the event to scout the talent. “The collegiate coaches appreciate the privacy, amenities, and hospitality we offer,” said Strange. In addition to providing the college scouts privacy with tents and an upstairs balcony to observe the events, PFX Athletics provides water, drinks, and lunch for all coaches in attendance. “It is a first-class event and we provide first-class amenities for the coaches and teams.”

For coaches who cannot get away from other complexes to watch teams play at Legends Way, or for parents and fans back home who could not make the long trip to Central Florida for this girls softball showcase event, PFX Athletics provides a live stream option.

The Diamond 9 Sun Classic girls softball college showcase provides opportunities for high-school aged girls from across the Nation to showcase their skills in front of college softball coaches at camps, clinics, and in competitive game settings. In addition to Diamond 9 events, Legends Way Ballfields is proud to host THE Spring Games, the Dot Richardson National Collegiate Softball Invitational, the Sun Conference Softball Championship, the Ultimate Softball Camp, and, as of just a few weeks ago, the NAIA Softball World Series (National Championship). “We take great pride in our facilities and, as a non-profit, are able to leverage them to bring attention to the sport and to the women and girls who love it. These large events help us provide opportunities for women and girls, through sport, to achieve their dreams,” Strange explained. “That is our mission and we are all excited to come to work every day.”
