PFX Athletics’ International Showcase a success as first American player heads to Sweden

[Clermont, FL]

The inaugural International Showcase of Champions was held June 24-26th at Legends Way Ballfields. Game footage from the tournament was made available to international coaches seeking to recruit American players. Allasyn Lieneck, a recent Florida Southern graduate, will be the first player to capitalize on this opportunity that has the capacity to change the lives of softball players nationwide. Lieneck will be blogging weekly about her experiences representing PFX internationally.

Lieneck and 9 other women softball players took the field wearing Team PFX jerseys and were ecstatic for the chance to play competitive softball again. Danielle Defeo, another recent college graduate described her experience by saying, “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to play after college and the tournament was a lot of fun.”

PFX Athletics will remain committed to forming international connections in order to provide American players the opportunity to continue playing softball after college. Registrations for The 2016 International Showcase of Champions will open in November 2015.

PFX Athletics is a non-profit organization formed in 1996 with the mission of opening the doors of opportunity for women and girls through sport.
