Local Businesses Team Up to Support the One-of-a-Kind Co-Ed Fastpitch League Presented by PFX Athletics
Clermont, FL- The community has rallied around PFX Athletics’ push to create a successful Co-Ed Fastpitch league in Central Florida. In particular, three locally owned and operated businesses have stepped up to the plate in support of the league; Beef O Brady’s, JDS Uniforms, and Clermont Roofing each sponsored a team by providing them uniforms for the season. This move by the local businesses exemplifies the “keep it local” attitude that is deeply rooted in the community of Clermont.
Chick Kennedy, one of three Beef O Brady’s Restaurant Owners, explained his desire to sponsor by saying, “ Our community is our livelihood! It’s doing business with the people that do business with us.”
The league is in its second season and is the only known league of its kind in this part of the country. The goal of the Co-Ed Fastpitch league is to promote the sport of fastpitch-softball and create opportunities for adult athletes to continue ‘living the dream’. The players aged 18 through 65, drive from all around the state for the chance to lace up their cleats and participate in the game they love. This opportunity would not be possible without the support of local businesses like Beef O’ Brady’s, JDS Uniforms, and Clermont Roofing.
PFX Athletics was formed in 1996 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for girls and women through sport. To help them achieve this mission please visit their website.
