Clermont, FL: On October 29, 2014, a group of diverse individuals with a common passion for the sport of fastpitch softball united at Legends Way Ballfields for opening night of the PFX Fall Co-Ed Fastpitch season. What they thought was just an opportunity to play the game they love, proved to be so much more: these players will go down in history as the only currently active and successful Co-Ed Fastpitch League in the country. The players of each team are a diverse group of athletes, ranging from 17-65 years old, and a matching skill level variety from never having played, all the way to elite level professional players. Some of these players have revealed their intense commitment to this game by their willingness to travel over 2 hours to play a single game. The game itself was characterized by some ESPN worthy diving plays, a couple stolen bases, a few balls hit off the fence, and a whole lot of heart and hustle. The leagues long-term purpose is to promote the professional level of the sport of Fastpitch in the USA, which will ultimately open the doors of opportunity to athletes across the nation. The league is grabbing the attention of the community as potential sponsors have started to pour in offering not only their support for the game of softball, but also for the innovative ideas and passion driven programs PFX Athletics has in store for 2015. These include College Showcases, Free Clinics, International Showcases, Womens Majors Invitational and another Co-Ed Fastpitch League starting in May 2015. The Fall Co-Ed season will run until December 10th, with games being played every Wednesday night at 6:30pm.
